Free Solid Color Digital Scrapbook Paper

Welcome to my free printable scrapbook papers and embellishments hub! As you look over the list of links to free downloads, you will see that I have a few links to some digital scrapbooking freebies as well as some "regular" scrapbook printables. My emphasis here is on free printables to help you decorate your scrapbook so I just want to say that even though the freebie may be specified for digital scrapbooking, it can still be printed and used to decorate your traditional scrapbook. There seems to be a much better selection when we are talking about digital scrapbooking because it has become SO popular but you can open and print the image files to decorate your scrapbook just the same. Just make sure you have a program that will open PNG files and you are good to go! The scrapbook papers/embellishments will either be PDF, JPEG or PNG- as long as you have the program to open it, you can print it. These free printables are for personal use only, please. Thanks!

Scrapbook Scrapbook is a website with TONS of free printable scrapbook stuff including whole sets, embellishments, backgrounds, tags and just about anything you could ever need and it's all for download in PDF format for great quality printing. I have to say this IS by FAR one of the best free scrapbooking printable sites on the net. Besides the free printables, there is a tips section and a lot of useful information about scrapbooking. It's a great site.. you won't want to miss this one if you are searching for free printable scrapbook papers, etc.

Look at these cute hanging tags at MyCraft.com. You could print these out and use them as journal tags or embellishments to decorate your scrapbook. You can use any free printable resource online for decorating your scrapbook... any clip art, textures, patterns etc that you can save and print out from your computer can be used to decorate your scrapbook. :0)

Cute colorful patterns

Let's not forget about the free digital scrapbooking resources- these are made to use in programs to digitally create your pages but they can be printed out for use in traditional scrapbooks as well! The kit to the right is free for download at craftHEAD.info among some other free kits! There is a page pack and a quick page for download. A quick page is already done for you and all you have to do is add your photo. The paper pack has matching colors of papers both prints and solids.. it consists of jpeg files and also some PNG files. You shouldn't have any trouble opening the JPEG files but you'll need a program that recognizes the PNG files (like Photoshop) in order to open them for printing.

Love pinks and browns

This is actually a digital card template but it's too cute not to share... I try to think outside the box... You could print it out and use it as a frame for your photos on your Valentine's Day scrapbook page. You will need to open it in a program like Photoshop that reads PNG files. Get it at shutterfly.typepad.com.

I love the colors pink and brown.. they look so good together. This is an awesome free digital paper pack among lots of other scrapbooking cuteness for download at stampTV. Just scroll down the page a bit and click on the zip file. These are all jpeg so you should have no problem with opening them and printing out for use in decorating your scrapbook!

More free printables: Gift Wrap It

This isn't free printable scrapbook paper but I ran across it and it's just too awesome not to include. Found these super cute free printable gift wrapping paper in some really cute patterns over at gift-wrap it.com. Just click on the one you want and download and print.. what is even more awesome is you can also print a matching card and gift tag to match your gift wrap! This site is really worth checking out.. Lot's of great, free printable gift wrap, gift cards and gift tags. The selections is awesome. One of the best free printable sites for sure. Printing your own gift wrap at home is just perfect for smaller gifts.

A Few Tips..

Before I end this I want to share a couple more links that I have found along the way:

• You can use anything out there to embellish and decorate your scrapbooks.. an awesome place to go for FREE resources is deviant art.com. There are people there who submit scrapbook scans, textures, backgrounds, patterns, etc. All free for download and for use in your personal projects unless otherwise noted. TONS of free stuff.
  
• Webtreats is a great place to find free textures, etc that can be used in creating scrapbook page backgrounds, etc. Cute, CUTE stuff here.
• Check out the freebies at The Scrappin Cop. She has tons of REALLY CUTE freebies for download- they are PNG files which is optimal for use in digital scrapbooking but you can use a lot of the stuff for embellishing your traditional scrapbook as well.

Natashalh- You could take it to a copy place to have it done on a color laser but I don't think it's necessary. My inkjet printer does a great job.. they always come out looking awesome. I think a lot of it has to do with the quality of paper you are printing on. If you are printing on a good quality paper with the settings on your printer set to high quality it should come out looking great. Also many of these graphics you may want to print on cardstock especially if you will be using them for scrapbooking or card making. You should should just try printing one out sometime.. if you aren't used to printing graphics you may be surprised :)

One advantage color laser printing does have over inkjet is that the ink will not run if water comes in contact, so be sure if you do print something nice out with your inkjet, try to put a clear sleeve over it (like in a scrapbook) or I think that if you sprayed a few light, light coats of sealer on it, that would probably help. I did hear that you can buy special ink for your inkjets now that won't run but I haven't looked into them and I'm thinking they are probably super high.

I've never used scrapbook printables. How to you make sure it looks good when you print it? Do you advise paying a few cents to have a copy center run it on high quality paper with a color laser printer? Or do they usually turn out well with just a home ink jet? I think some of these are really cool but am not confident in my printer's ability to create nice looking things!

Nice list--I've been downloading digi scrapbooking freebies for about 4 years. One thing to be careful of though is personal websites which offer them. I got a bad virus from one--so now I stick to commercial sites like scrapgirls
